Our London store is in the heart of Belgravia. I feel very at home in London and I’m very happy to take my cue from the glamorous women who live in my area. That means joining Grace, the women-only spa and members’ club which serves as sanctuary, meeting-place and relaxation space.
The amazing atrium is a beautiful venue for fashion shows and the organic kitchen is perfect for a quick breakfast or lunch. Yotam Ottolenghi’s marvellous deli means delicious salads are just a few minutes away.
The (very welcome) French invasion of this part of London means there’s a piece of Paris right on our doorstep – Pierre Herme, purveyor of Parisian macarons, Christian Louboutin for divine shoes and Eres, for the most flattering swimwear.
Neill Strain, the Irish couture florist, whose store is two doors away, dresses our store weekly and has become a wonderful friend. Anton Mossiman welcomed me to the street in 2000 with a lifetime membership of Mosimann’s.
The Blue Bar at The Berkeley is one of my favourite places to meet for a drink and a gossip with a friend. The Rosewood Hotel is a favoured haunt – I love how it is both extremely sophisticated and yet relaxed.
My morning ritual is to pop into Ennismore Gardens and enjoy my first coffee of the day from Carpo on Montpellier Street. Lucio’s is a terrific, family-run Italian on the Fulham Road. I always spot interesting well-known faces there and the atmosphere is typically Italian – buzzy, lively and fun. Diners chat to other diners, and as well-mannered dogs are very welcome.
I was introduced to Lucio’s by dear friend Vivienne Griffin who runs the Rubelli showrooms in Chelsea Harbour. Vivienne brings her cockapoo Daisy to dinner. Daisy’s chicken dish is always served first, while Vivienne and I must wait, making do with a glass of champagne.
