Moving onwards with optimism: the Louise Kennedy Spring Summer collection sets the tone for new horizons.

Never has colour been so important, so says Louise Kennedy as she introduces her new Spring Summer ‘21 collection. Stay focussed on the horizon, on brighter and better days, and let colour provide some much-needed energy to guide us through the lighter months ahead.

Inspired by dreams of visiting the idyllic archipelago of islands, The Maldives, this new collection boasts bursts of therapeutic colour such as bold azure, duck egg blue, powder pink, ivory, and pure white all of which perfectly contrast with midnight navy.

This season, we have returned to one of Italy’s most renowned mills to source double-face crepe, constructed with two layers, so no lining is required, and where there are linings, they are 100% Italian silk. At a time when good fabric and excellent finish are overlooked and undervalued, our pieces stand out – and last a lifetime. Fabrics are chosen for their weight, their quality, their feel, their ability to fall and fold beautifully.

High quality printed silks developed in Northern Italy are embellished using delicate beading. Luxurious Italian knits return. A nod to our inspiration of the season the Yara blazer is an intricately woven navy lurex, styled below with Mila hat.

The star motif is dominant this season on tee-shirts, fine cashmere-blend hoodies, printed silks, and hand-beaded summer knits. Lightweight tweeds are perfect to fashion into boyfriend blazers and chic biker jackets lined in pure silk. This season, the ever-popular beaded pure silk kaftans, come in turquoise, navy and pink. Moving on from the comfy knits and at-home loungewear, this new collection celebrates luxurious wardrobe staples styled with refined tailoring: for work, for pleasure or for the social activities we are all looking forward to this summer.

Linton, based in Carlisle has a longstanding tradition of creating beautiful novelty fabrics handwoven to this day for their initial strike off. It has always been the first port of call when we start a new collection. Established in 1912, Linton has an extensive client portfolio when you consider the brands they work alongside including some of the worlds most prestigious French and Italian fashion houses. Their use of multiple threads and different tension mechanisms create the texture and unique novelty feel to the fabric.

The season our Hanna Jacket and Emilia Blazer are created using Parisian fabrics exclusively woven for our SS 21 collection.

“We all need something to look forward to, some sunshine in our lives. Wherever we will be this summer, these are clothes to lift the spirit and bring joy with the arrival of a new piece for your forever summer wardrobe” – Louise Kennedy

The Tyler Jacket (above right) is the ultimate investment piece, this super-luxe jacket is fully embellished with jet bugle beads in an intricate pattern reflecting the details of our Georgian surroundings in the Dublin flagship store. Also available in black. Style this season with our embellished Sybil t-shirt and Fleur Trousers. The Jacqueline kaftan (above left) is made using the finest double silk georgette and is hand beaded with Swarovski crystals, available this season to order in a number of colour hues.

Finally, can we wish you all a safe and happy time in the months ahead. Who knew we would be heading into the new season with so many changes to our lives?

We also want to send love and appreciation to our craftsmen and women in Italy, France, Portugal, and India who help us each season produce such beautiful garments.
