The Mara Knit & Marni Embellished Trousers
Every season, our fashion shoot location is a hotly debated topic – do we want smart, contemporary, glamorous, or smart, classic, glamorous? As envious colleagues in the fashion industry in London tell us, Ireland has a rich seam of great locations to be mined – historic houses, cool contemporary design – sometimes it’s just about looking at a property with a fresh eye. Identifying a chic St Stephen’s Green penthouse designed by Roisin Lafferty of Kingston Lafferty Design, we set about moving in one day last week, to shoot, literally from dawn til dusk, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. We love the idea that Irish interior design and fashion came together, and it was a perfect fit.
"Hugenot house was one of our favourite designs to work on. Focusing very much on intricate details, streamlined, clean layouts and luxe monochrome materials, we sought to create a polished and sophisticated environment for the client to enjoy and experience. It was an absolute pleasure to see the talented Louise Kennedy and her team using the space in such a creative way"
- Roisin Lafferty
Make-up Artist Zoe Clark with model Romana Balazova
'" I decided on a smokier sultry plumy and gold shimmer eye look which not only brought out Romana's stunning green eyes but also worked well with Louise's rich colour palette throughout her A/W 18 collection'"
- Zoe Clark
Hair styling by Michael Leong
'" The hair for the AW/18 shoot was effortlessly chic, pulled back loosely with a soft side swept parting, leaving feathery hair textured out to mimic the exquisite embroidery in the collection"
- Michael Leong
Behind the lens - Photographer Barry McCall
'" As a photographer, it's always a joy getting access to places that are not usually available for shoots. This penthouse, with beautiful lighting and interior design by Kingston Lafferty Design, lends itself so well to capturing great imagery. A real pleasure and perfect location for shooting Louise's sublime new collection."
- Barry McCall
Model Romana was a dream to work with and as always, our wonderful team of stylist Catherine Condell, photographer Barry McCall, hair stylist Michael Leong and make-up artist Zoe Clark, made the day a pleasure.

Ready for my close up!
Assistant Paddy Paws, as you can see from the photos, directed proceedings for a couple of hours before quite frankly, he lost interest and snoozed on the very chic Husk sofa. There is only so much fashion a dog can take. Several hours and multiple coffees after we began, we had a collection of great shots which you will see on www.louisekennedy.com, and in our lookbook, very soon.
Paddy, chief stress buster and nap-taker
We can’t wait to show you the collection and look forward to seeing you at 56 Merrion Square, Brown Thomas Dublin, 9 West Halkin Street in London and New York in September.
