It’s funny now to think that for years, we were in awe of our counterparts “on the continent” who seemed uniquely qualified to wear a scarf or wrap with particular panache.
French and Italian women, young and old, had a seemingly God-given flair for wrapping, tying and carrying off with aplomb a whole range of scarf styles, while we, uninitiated Anglo-Saxons, did something wholly unimaginative, like a basic knot or wrapping once around the neck and flicking the two ends over our shoulders.
Not so now. Walk down any street in Dublin or London in winter and see how beautifully women are wearing their scarves, from blanket wraps to long scarves to silk squares. The bigger the better, and generously-sized scarves allow us to style them in more inventive ways.

I, for one, have fallen in love all over again with scarves – possibly the most useful pieces in my wardrobe - and I am thrilled that this is reflected this season in one of our biggest collections yet.
With some classic favourites in new colourways and some new additions, like the divine silk Georgian Wrap (top), there is a style you will love, we are sure of it, for yourself or perhaps as a gift for a special girlfriend, your wonderful mum, or a colleague who goes, as we say, above and beyond.
Blue Lapis Accessories by L'Objet
Every single wrap or scarf, whether silk, cashmere or softest merino wool, feels delicious to touch and wear, and will last for ever. Some, like the Etaine wrap, are embroidered in exquisite detail at our atelier in India, and fringed with leather.
The Georgian wrap is inspired by our beloved Merrion Square. The Zinnia is an LK classic now, with its raised crewel-style embroidery. Like everything we do, every design has a story behind it, and we’d be happy to fill you in when you drop by to see us. Each scarf will be beautifully wrapped.
