If you've been keeping up with us on Instagram, you'll have noticed that the team of experts at Louise Kennedy have been hard at work behind the scenes on the upcoming campaign for A/W16. As an inevitable change in the season beckons, we're looking forward to a brand new collection that has so much to offer the sophisticated, modern woman.
First and foremost, as with all Louise Kennedy collections, the cleanness of colour is paramount and something the brand has become known for over the years. Along with a much-needed burst of colour for this chillier time of year, so too are beautiful textures and fabrics a top priority.
For the next collection - the complete lookbook will be available from August - designer Louise Kennedy takes her inspirational lead from nature.
"Nature continues to inspire my work; I've always adored it and for this collection, it has been key. With such gorgeous, natural colour hues, it translates so beautifully to what we wear; it's feminine, strong and bold."
As for what to expect? Louise says that a prominent characteristic of this collection is statement pieces. "This collection brings new proportions. It's clean, chic, with layering options and separates dressing."
Elsewhere, florals add a burst of colour: "Key pieces feature stunning vivid red and pinks roses on a black base." One key piece that reaffirms Louise's love of florals and colour is the 'Aubrey’ embossed cape; "I adore this cape with the oriental flower. It's going to be one of the most defining pieces of the whole collection."
When it comes to textures, fans of the brand can look forward to fluid jersey shapes embellished with Swarovski crystals, woven jacquards adorned with intricate floral beadwork and luxurious layered silks.
Louise collaborated with her talented key team on the shoot for A/W16; 'It's a team collaboration through and through. "We adore working with Barry McCall who is so phenomenal with lighting. It's integral for the mood and to showcase the intricacies of the woven fabrics. We also had the opportunity to work with an Irish brand, Fleetwood, whose new designer paints from their Vogue collection married so beautifully with our colour hues."
The full collection will be available to shop online and in store from August.
